I wanted to quickly share my favorite Thanksgiving dessert. Shocker, it’s not pumpkin pie!
Growing up my grandma made and still continues to make this red hot cinnamon applesauce jello thing (fancy name eh?) and it is DELICIOUS. It's obviously super easy to make ahead of time and paired well with just about everything but I prefer a plain scoop with little bit of whip cream on top.
Ingredients:
½ cup cinnamon red hot candies
1 cup water
1 (3 ounce) package cherry-flavored gelatin (such as JELL-O®)
2 cups applesauce
Directions:
Dissolve cinnamon candies in water in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix in gelatin and allow to dissolve; remove from heat and stir applesauce into mixture. Pour into a serving dish and refrigerate until set, about 2 hours.
